On behalf of all of us, we just have to say, "WOW, THANK YOU!" We received more than a hundred insightful comments on everything from booth setup to ideas on how to engage prospective clients. Your tips will help our readers get the most out of our trade show experiences. A couple of things came through loud and clear:
1. There's no such thing as over-preparing. The most successful among you shared a common theme - be ready for everything. Put thought into every aspect - signage, wardrobe, giveaways, follow-up - and keep looking at ways to improve.
2. Make your presence known. No matter what size booth you occupy, use your space well and let people know you're here.
3. Bring a social media angle to the event. Have someone on your team live tweet from the event with a dedicated hashtag ( just not from within your booth space). Add a FourSquare check in. Post pictures to your Facebook page. Use QR codes on your products at the booth. Add a little online interaction to engage an increasingly plugged-in crowd.
It's thoughtful comments like these that helped us realize this was the kind of event we want to continue. So look for us to engage you again on another topic. And another chance at a prize.
And the winners are....
CONGRATULATIONS, Alison J. from Berman & Simmons and Michael N. of The Growth Coach! You were randomly selected from our pool of comments. Alison follows a "no such thing as being over-prepared" mantra and Michael has 13 years of trade show experience. Our favorite bit of advice from Michael: "Make people work for the good giveaways - short demo, presentation - something that engages their interest." Smart!
Thanks again to everyone!
