Let's face it, for much of the country this spring has been rather disappointing so far. Here in Dodgeville, the weather has been, well, dodgy. It may be April, but the mercury has rarely climbed higher than 50°, and sleet and snow are in the weekend forecast. In fact, we've even had some visitors from the famed "Frozen Tundra" who felt right at home in our chilly headquarters.
It's a good thing, then, that we have plenty of lightweight layers ready to throw on when a cold front comes through, from ThermaCheck® and textured fleece jackets to our water-repellent soft shell. There's also Outrigger®, which features a choice of a mesh or fleece lining as well as a convertible hem that rolls down for more coverage—so you can even sit down on a wet surface and stay dry. The reigning champion however, is our waterproof rain jacket.
It's made with a 2.5-layer shell, which sounds a bit technical, so allow me to explain: the first layer blocks wind and repels rain; the second is sealed for total waterproofing; and there's a third, half-layer that adds breathability and wicks moisture. An adjustable hood and cuffs as well as hem bungees also keep out the elements, and the chest pocket features a waterproof zipper and media port for headphones, so your mobile device stays dry. The finishing touch is Thermoseal embroidery, which allows us to stitch your logo without compromising the waterproof protection of the jacket.
Of course, while all our lightweight jackets offer great protection from wet and chilly conditions, we certainly hope you won't need to rely on these foul-weather friends too often this spring and summer. Here's hoping it warms up soon!
