Today, March 29 is National Mom & Pop Business Owners Day, founded to celebrate small businesses and the benefits they bring to their communities. It's easy to think small businesses are losing ground to larger companies, but in fact, almost half the US workforce is employed by small businesses. The United States Small Business Administration classifies over 28 million American firms as small businesses, and of those, over five million have fewer than 20 employees.

One of the many small companies we serve at Lands' End Business is Force 5, a brand marketing firm in South Bend, Indiana. A "mom and pop" business in the truest sense, this seven-strong team is headed by Creative Director and President, Deb DeFreeuw and VP David Morgan. If anyone knows branding inside and out, it's this couple, who bring their three adorable dogs—Brady, Sophie and Pixie—to the office every day. There's no uniform at Force 5—the team wears a mix of professional and business casual apparel embroidered with the company logo, everything from polos and fleece to soft blouses and blazers. Branded clothing is especially important when presenting themselves to clients.
"Brand drives everything," says Deb. "Clothing is an important part of Force 5's brand identity." Not only do they trust logo'd apparel from Lands' End Business for their own staff, but they also recommend it to their clients.
"Branded apparel is the perfect vehicle to show your clients exactly who you are and what you stand for," explains David. "In today's marketing world you can get a logo on anything from just about anywhere, but we recommend Lands' End because of the quality, the variety and the customer service."
At Lands' End Business, we're grateful for the opportunity to help businesses of any size with their branding efforts, by offering a wide range of high-quality apparel and logo options. You can read more about how we help Force 5 succeed in our Behind The Logo feature.
