How does a rescue dog become a model? Well, it helps if you steal the heart of a creative director.
Carol Ferris, our creative director, fell in love with Boo after their first meeting. He was in foster care, after enduring a horrible five years of life at a puppy mill. You can read more about Boo's rescue journey here, at Doreen Disbro's "Doggies and Stuff" blog.
Boo came home to Madison, WI, under Carol and Robert's watchful eye. Within a few weeks, he warmed to Bella, their resident Frenchie, who was quite happy to have a playmate. "At first, he seemed to tolerate her playful advances," says Carol. "We were so excited when we saw him joining in earnest. The poor thing didn't know how to be a regular dog. Bella helped him. They're such good friends now," she says.
From shy dog to camera ready in less than six months. Boo had his chance to shine next to Bella in a special animal-care-industry-focused photo shoot. Did he mind all the fuss? Not one bit. "Bella's a natural in front of the camera. You can see Boo is a little less assured in his posture, but that smile is unmistakable." says Carol. A star is born.
